SCAVENGER DEVLOG 8-13

So I skipped the last devlog. Don’t tell anybody.

BUT! To catch you up to speed, we’re off on our way to building a vertical slice of the game! Which is to say, our goal is to have a “finished” arena and character model, along with the nuts ‘n bolts of the gameplay mechanic. As the next big mile-marker goal, we want to be able to play a round of this game, as this game is more-or-less going to work.

Of course, there’s a lot to do before then. Right now, we’re working on making models to fill out the arena. Each of us is using our time to cement our functional grasp of Roblox as a platform– the fewer times we can say “WHY IS THIS HINGE NOT WORKING”, the better.

I also spent a chunk of today hunting down reference pictures for a Jamba Juice-type kitchen, looking for a guide as to which assets we wanted to build first. Things like what the shelving looks like, what the sinks look like, what types of appliances the kitchen may have, and so on. 

As a side note, it is very difficult to find pictures of the employees-only section of a Jamba Juice.

Not much else to write about, but in a good, nose-to-the-grindstone sort of way. Until next time!
